If you stopped right now and listened, what would you hear?

We can think about prayer as a sort of escape from reality, but sometimes the best prayer comes from just closing your eyes and drinking the sounds of the world around you.  No need to evaluate what the sounds all are, if there's a lot of them.  Just let it wash over you. Whatever feelings come up, think of them as a gift.  Another way the Lord resonates within you.

Rain on the roof, wind whistling over the chimney, water bubbling up through the basement floor...

and still I will rejoice in my saving God!

(with apologies to the prophet Habbakuk)

Well, right now there is the music of parakeets singing all around me. One, in particular, is sitting happily on my shoulder and chattering away while I type this.
I love these moments.
